Overall, this was a pretty solid read. Jim Butcher didn't info-dump about the world; instead he brought us into a world and just told the story, adding details and some explanation as necessary. I like this kind of storytelling. The battle scene towards the end of the book was well-written. I could really imagine it taking place. In fact, I really got a feel for the setting of the book. From Harry's office and apartment, to McAnally's bar/pub, to the slight descriptions of all the other settings, I really felt like I was in the middle of the story and watching it all take place.
However, I haven't really connected to any of the characters yet. If I do continue to read this series (which I probably will, knowing how I don't like to just leave a story unfinished), I hope that this changes.
